SIMPLIFIED CROSS STITICH AND KNITTING CHARTS
Dream projects for dream exhibitions.
My main mission right now is to find a residency/MFA/fellowship that will allow me to complete the dream shows attached to these projects.
Astra would be in a show about avatars and self. She would be part of a performance piece as well–where people would talk to Astra to talk to me. The plan would be for me to be inside a box covered with Astras and I would speak from inside. She would be my only form of expression. Like online but not.
The poetry charts would be used to turn my current poetry collection (in progress) CO-MORBIDITIES into works of physical art. To connect digital and physical–to show the similarities between fiber arts and pixilation.
ApocalypticCore would be about dealing with the anxieties and beauties around death–an adornment of violent ends and nature reclaiming its own.
The final charts on this gallery would deal with pop culture, horror, violence, and the ways we both immerse ourselves in it and distance ourselves from it–it would take heavy inspiration from the traumacore movement (often seen on Tumblr–sometimes subject of ridicule) I think it would be fun to explore the particular environment that gives birth to a movement like that and whether or not it is actually a vital part of the artist community.
